28 YOUTH SERVED during AAYD's 4th Annual STEM Holidays, week-long event at the Harvey Park District;

176 YOUTH SERVED during STEM Summer 

48 LOCAL YOUTHS EMPLOYED as STEM summer program support;  after school program support; youth mentors and/or program assistants in Dixmoor, Harvey, and Robbins, IL;

8,980 MEALS SERVED  as breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner (not counting healthy snacks in-between) to program participants as well as community youth.  When the pandemic hit in March 2020 closing schools, AAYD launched the Healthy Kids program, delivering fresh produce and food to all families of enrolled participants.  In 2022 we were happy to get back to full direct-service operations and provide full meals complete with fresh produce, everyday.

561 MENTORING SESSIONS through the Employ Harvey Youth, Ivy League Kids after-school, Leaders Walk Away Mentoring, and STEM 2022:  Earth and Sea programs ;

213 YOUTH referred to wellness visits;    

220 REFERRALS made (including hotline calls to report abuse, neglect and self-harm).

Pre and Post Summer STEM assessments showed 100% OF YOUTH RETAINED throughout Summer STEM 2022 increased their knowledge of science related content by at least 60%.   At the beginning of the program, 2% of participants knew the components of the STEM acronym. All retained youth could verbalize what each letter in STEM means by the end of the first week, including examples and again by the end of the summer in addition to selecting and reporting on their choice for a career in engineering.

100% ALL PROGRAM PURCHASES were made in the areas we serve (whenever possible);

Hundreds of cook county youth and families served through tutoring, after school programming, summer programs, mentoring, group and individual tutoring, parenting classes and, employment training!
